Tim Whitehead

Tim's first public performance was as solo clarinetist in his school orchestra, conducted by his school friend, the now knighted, Sir Simon Rattle. He has since played with Ian Carr's Nucleus, Graham Collier, Loose Tubes, Giovanni Mirabassi, Phil DeGreg. He has recorded the albums English People, Decision, and Silence Between Waves with his own bands, featuring John Parricelli, Django Bates, Nic France, Pete Jacobsen, Dave Barry, and Arnie Somogyi. His awards include Young Jazz Musician of the Year, The Andrew Milne Award for Jazz, and Jazz Album of the Year. He also won the Peter Whittingham Award with Colin Riley to record Tides with the Homemade Orchestra, who have toured extensively and released a second album, Inside Covers. www.timwhitehead.co.uk
