James Asher

James is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and record producer, focusing on world music, trance music and new age music. In 1979 he opened his own studio, Starfield, and released his first single "Peppermint Lump" which was produced by Pete Townshend. He also played drums on Townshend's album Empty Glass. In 1988 James released his first album The Great Wheel which reached number 13 on Billboard's New Age Music Chart. He has since released numerous albums including Feet In The Soil, Tigers of the Raj, Colours of Trance, Raising The Rhythms, Globalarium and Drums On Fire. He has also worked with Dave Gilmore, Hossam Ramzy, Sandeep Raval, Sivamani, Rahul Raj, and been sampled by the Chemical Brothers and U.N.K.L.E! www.james-asher.co.uk
